I got an estimate from the dealership where I bought our Fiat (Fuson Cadillac) for worn out rack and pinion work, a cost of $3800. Fuson said they could not do the work! I found Malless' website and had the car flat bedded to them. I told them the diagnosis and asked them to make their own check. They found the problem and it was nothing to do with R&P, and fixed it for 25% of the Fuson estimate. The car always looked like a new one and now it drives like one too. They stayed in touch before, during, and after the work. Malless could have said "yep you needed a whole new rack and pinion plus....". But they didn't, they found the real issue and fixed it. It is nice to know that they found the actual problem and did the right thing for the customer. I will return to them for future work. Thank you Malless, Mel and Jeff Aitken, Terre Haute.

If you live close by they have a shuttle service during certain hours to enable you to get home after you drop your car off . I cannot thank Malless Auto enough. After having our minivan just serviced in the Chicago area by another group yesterday we drove it to our son who attends Butler University as he had been planning for many months to use it. After driving for 1 1/2 hours it broke down half way to Indianapolis at 8 pm last night. Undriveable. Had it towed to Malless late last night and left them voicemail late last night well after hours and sent them an email. I received a prompt call at exactly 6:21 am Chicago time today from Malless confirming receipt of vehicle and assured me they would fit in to look at it. An hour later I received another call explaining the issues (it was what the other auto shop in the Chicago area fixed yesterday and it had already failed). They went on to inform me the work that needed to be done with a quote that was very fair. I told them approved. They said it will be done by 5 pm today. It was done at 4:00 pm and we picked it up. This group didn't know me. They knew the likelihood of an out of town person ever using them again is low simply by the fact of drive distance/convenience. And they are slammed with all sorts of other business. And, they still provided some of the best customer service I have ever seen and went above and beyond. And they did not over charge me. They were fair and honest. Being in customer service for my entire life and running my own business, I can see a solid, trustworthy and qualified provider when I meet them. This is definitely one. And one I will use in the future. Highly recommend

When the instrument cluster in my 2WD 2012 F150 began to fail, I went to Malless for diagnosis and repair. They concluded that the cluster was failing fast and would need to be replaced. The first choice was an OEM cluster from Ford. When the service manager, Micah contacted Ford, he found out that Ford no longer made that cluster, which is not interchangeable with the more than 12 other clusters Ford used in various 2012 F150's. Many auto repair shops would have given up at this point. With my consent he searched various sites for a used cluster. The first used cluster had significant scratching, which Malless (and I!) considered unacceptable. He then located another one. This time the cluster had an internal problem and could not be programmed correctly. One the reasons I really like Malless is that they are very persistent. Micah searched across 250 used part sites and located and installed the ONLY remaining exact match cluster. It works perfect and comes with a reasonable warranty. It took three clusters to fix the problem and it took time for each to be shipped to Malless. Between each try, Malless made sure my truck was drivable in case I needed it. The story does not end there. I also reported that I have had an air bag indicator light on and wanted that repaired as well. Ford sent the wrong part twice. With getting the correct part from Ford in serious doubt, he sourced an exact match locally and sent a technician to pick it up so that this repair would be done at the same time as the cluster repair. Micah's communication, and there was a lot, was excellent. I appreciate their persistence, transparency, and that they took true ownership for fixing the problem. We've used Malless before for other difficult problems - with similar excellent outcomes.

My 2013 Ford Escape had started to shimmy pretty bad when I would apply the breaks. I figured I needed break pads and rotors. I called Malless to get an estimate for new pads and rotors all around. They gave me a reasonable quote that was right around what the 3 other places I had called gave me. (Except for the dealership I called. Dealerships are always WAY pricier it seams) I?m always a little leery when it comes to taking my car in for repairs because of all the horrible stories you hear of places taking advantage of people. Anyways I made an appointment at Malless and took my car in. I was presently surprised when I got a call and they said the technician test drove my car and felt the shimmy I had mentioned. Rather than just throwing unnecessary and expensive parts and services at my car, the technician checked everything and found the rear pads and rotors were actually fine and the issue was only with the front ones. After calling and getting the go ahead from me, they made only the necessary repairs and my car was ready a couple hours later. Rather than getting a $700+ bill that I was quoted for all four it ended up only being $411.00. My car now stops nice and smooth! I will have no problem calling them if I have any other car troubles.

My husband took my car in due to it running very poorly. After I picked up the car there was still an issue with it. I called the shop and they had me bring it back in for further inspection. They found the timing belt tensioner was not applying enough pressure and it was skipping timing. They should have charged me for at least the tensioner and most shops would have charged me for the labor also to do it again. They did not. Mine could have been a special case in due to how it worked out, however they went above and beyond what was expected and I can not recommend them more. If you need an automotive repair shop, it would be better to wait for an appointment with Malless then go some where else!!!!

These guys are the best in the city! I have been relying on them for 10 years to service 5 vehicles. Their prices match industry standards but their honesty, integrity and work quality far exceeds all others I have dealt with in Indianapolis. In my most recent repair my son?s Chevy Cruze suffered a major burn out of the car?s computer (ECU) which required replacement, rewiring of the harness, and reprogramming. 50 miles after this, the ignition coils burned out requiring a tow and coil replacement. The tow was covered by the warranty MallessAuto gives free of charge with major repairs and they replaced the ignition coils for no charge (the two repairs were not related to each other). Thanks Malless for unusually great service!

Took my 2012 Chevy Avalanche here because there was noise coming from the front end. They were able to determine it was the FR DIFF. This was the same result that I got from Bill Estes Chevy just north of here. The BIG difference was the communication. They were able to explain that they heard the noise on the road and then they RECREATED the noise on the rack. This was well worth the $50 to me. Bill Estes just said they heard the noise but would need to charge $350 to tear down the DIFF and inspect after paying $150 for the diagnostic. I believe there was a lot of extra value in them recreating the noise while on the rack and being able to eliminate the noise by turning off Auto 4WD. I was not comfortable with Bill Estes when they just took it for a drive and said "We think its coming from the FR DIFF but we need to tear it down" without adding more detail about their investigation. So at a third of the cost and much more defined results they will be getting my future business and I encourage you to give them a try! -Very happy with the work they have done for me since the initial review. I still recommend giving them a shot.

Took our Jeep in for a noise associated with the A/C, they were able to determine the issue and repair. quickly. Always had good experience here. Took our Jeep back again for an oil leak, exhaust and issue with earlier AC repair, they repaired the AC under warranty no charge and were able to determine the oil pan was the problem, fixed the noisy muffler and we are back on the road.

I?ve been a customer there for around 12 years. Early on, I used to obtain quotes for the services in order to compare prices. Malless has always been comparable, if not a little cheaper. I?ve never had any issues with the repairs on my vehicles. They do great work and are honest in pricing and in communicating the repairs needed. The only negative for me is the business isn?t located closer to where I live. I have used other auto servicing Companies, such as Midas and Firestone and I still question whether I really needed some repairs and/or services or if I was just told something false so they could get more money from me. I have never had that feeling at Malless.

My jeep blew a hose on the highway or so I thought. I looked up mechanics near me on Google and these guys showed up as well as a couple big name shops, so I went to them to support a local business. They told me that a recent repair (from a jeep dealership) had improperly placed a spring clamp on my radiator hose. They put a proper clamp on, flushed the radiator, filled it up and got me out in less time than they said it would be before it was even looked at. I recently had an issue with my vehicle that I thought was from the front struts. I had it checked out with the dealership along with several other warranty items to be fixed. They told me the struts were fine and the noise was just from the age of the vehicle and that it may take several new suspension components to make the noise go away. I decided to only do the warranty work at the dealer and have the front end checked out at Malless. Guess what! The noise was diagnosed as the struts just like I had thought. I was looking online for a foreign car repair service to repair my KIA Sorento, that had, the equipment and knowledge to do the job correctly. So GLAD that I found MALLESS AUTOMOTIVE.
